Join Dawn Slack for a discussion of how local people and local resources are key to healthy air, water, and soil

Join Dawn Slack for a discussion of how local people and local resources are key to healthy air, water, and soil. Slack will share how invasive species such as the emerald ash borer, kudzu (we have over 150 sites of kudzu in Indiana) and more are a billion-dollar problem and why we are more than just a minor component of the solution. Slack has been studying natural resources for more than 30 years as a botanist and biologist. She has worked for military and state governments, as well as for-profit and not-for-profit entities. Her work and military lifestyle have led her coast-to-coast in the U.S. and to Europe where she has studied and managed natural resources. Slack resides in Wayne County, Indiana where she works to share biological research and build local and effective collaboration for healthy ecosystems.  Sponsored by the Oak Heritage Conservancy. Adult.
