(Another Call from the Community)

Scott County-On 3-9-2022, Deputy James Morris was dispatched to the area of north Main Street and Cutshall Road in northern Scott County to observe for a white passenger vehicle in the roadway. Deputy Morris located the vehicle and the driver appeared to be asleep behind the wheel. The driver, identified as Carrie Duke, 39 of Lexington, Indiana was arrested for multiple drug related charges a short time after initial contact with Deputy Morris. Sheriff Goodin advised the following…“this is another community oriented policing example of a citizen seeing something that appeared wrong and then reporting what they saw so Sheriff’s Deputies could investigate it further. Once Deputy Morris arrived on scene and accessed the situation, he took action that resulted in the removal of this poison from our community…again, I want to personally thank the citizen reporter for placing that call.”

Carrie Duke was charged with the following.

• Possession of Methamphetamine

• Maintaining a Common Nuisance

• Dealing in Marijuana/Hash Oil/or Salvia
