The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department has received multiple complaints from members of the community stating they have received phone calls from a male identifying himself as an officer or lieutenant from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office requesting money from unpaid court fees or bonds.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office does NOT request or receive any payments for any services over the telephone.
We are actively investigating this scam.
