Wind Advisory until 2:00AM Tuesday

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 3 PM this afternoon to 2 AM EST Tuesday. 

* WINDS...South winds this afternoon will become westerly tonight. Winds will be 15 to 30 mph with gusts upwards of 50 mph. 

* TIMING...late this afternoon and into tonight. 

* IMPACTS...Scattered tree and power line damage is possible along with some minor property damage in the highest gusts. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Instructions:

Secure loose outdoor objects. Drivers of high-profile vehicles or trailers should exercise caution. The wind and wind gusts will make difficult driving conditions.

    A community wide scavenger hunt. Visit as many parks as you can during the month of March, and have fun exploring Jefferson County's parks and nature preserves as you go. To get started, download your Park Hop Passport. It lists the parks and nature preserves, and the clues for each one. Prizes available for youth (ages 18 and under) that complete all clues at 1,5, or 10 parks. Submitting all clues for more than 10 parks will enter youth into the grand prize drawing. Families can have fun and claim kids' prizes at our Park Hop Celebration on April 6th, from 1-2 pm at Heritage Park.
