Bridge Work Planned on State Road 39 South of Tampico

JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Eagle Painting and Maintenance Company plans to begin work on State Road 39 over Smart Ditch on or after Monday, July 29, to complete bridge painting work south of Tampico.

Work will take place approximately two miles south of Tampico and approximately one mile north of State Road 256 and is expected to take up to seven weeks, weather permitting. Motorists will be unable to utilize the southbound shoulder while work is in progress. Crews will begin to place signage in the area prior to the start of construction. 

This project is part of a contract awarded to Eagle Painting in April 2024. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
