Quick work by deputies

On December 15, 2019, in the early morning hours, Sgt. Allen Ritchie responded to an alarm call at ISA Recycling Center in Spencer Township. While en-route, Jennings County Central Dispatched received a report of a single vehicle crash near the same location. After Sgt. Ritchie’s arrival, his investigation revealed that the suspect, Marvin McCall, broke into the business and loaded his truck with several Catalytic Converters before leaving the scene. The investigation showed that the suspect left the scene at a high rate of speed and wrecked his vehicle where it overturned several times and eventually came to rest in the middle of the roadway on County Road 900 West, approximately 200 yards from ISA Recycling. After wrecking the vehicle, the suspect returned to the business where he then stole a Bobcat Skid loader and drove it to the scene of the accident where he unsuccessfully attempted to turn the vehicle back on its wheels. The suspect then left his vehicle and Bobcat in the roadway before fleeing the scene for the second time.

A short time after Deputies arrived on scene, Sgt. Allen Ritchie deployed his canine partner, Vampir. Sgt. Ritchie and Vampir located the suspect, Marvin McCall, (57 of Edinburgh, Indiana) approximately a mile and a half away from the scene where he was then taken into custody.

Marvin McCall was remanded to the Jennings County Jail where he is being held on a $3,155 bond on the following Charges:

Burglary- Level 4 Felony
Two Counts of Theft- Level 6 Felony
Possession of Methamphetamine- Level 6 Felony
Possession of Paraphernalia- C Misdemeanor
