Closure planned on State Road 356 in Southwest Jefferson County

Road will reopen Mid-June

                                                                                                                                                                                                             JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ind. - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E&B Paving, Inc. is scheduled to close State Road 356 approximately three miles west of State Road 62 on or after Monday, May 12, to complete a pipe replacement project in Jefferson County.
 

The closure will take place between South Hunter Road and County Road West 350 South located between Lexington and Swanville. S.R. 356 is expected to reopen in mid-June, weather permitting. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows S.R. 203 to S.R. 56 to S.R. 62.

This work is part of a contract awarded to E&B in September 2024. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
