DOMESTIC BATTERY LANDS MADISON WOMAN BEHIND BARS

The victim was transported to the hospital

                                       

In the afternoon hours of February 23, 2023, Madison Police responded to a residence in the 400 block of Moody Park Lane reference domestic battery.  The victim reported being bitten in the chin area of her face and requested an ambulance.

Madison Police Patrol Officer Kayla Taylor-Moore was first to arrive on scene and found the adult female victim standing in the street, with a very serious injury to her chin.  Officer Taylor-Moore provided first aid until EMS arrived.  The victim was transported from the scene to KDH-ER.

The subsequent investigation revealed the victim was residing in the same residence as the suspect, identified as Kiara P. Parker 23, Madison, Indiana.  According to the investigation, the two females were engaged in a verbal dispute when Parker allegedly bit the victim's chin, causing serious bodily injury.

Kiara Parker was taken into custody and transported to the Jefferson County Jail, where she remains incarcerated on Level 3 felony criminal confinement charges and Level 5 felony domestic battery charges.   Both charges are alleged and preliminary, Parker has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty. 

Officer Taylor-Moore was assisted by Madison Police Officers Guzman, Heffelfinger and Wallace.
