Jeffersonville - March 24, 2025: A driver fleeing from police crashed into two uninvolved vehicles, resulting in a four-vehicle crash that sent several to area hospitals.

Shortly after 11 p.m. Monday, Trooper Line from the Indiana State Police (ISP) Sellersburg Post attempted to stop a blue 2010 Model G37 Infinity for speeding and having a headlight out near 8th Street and Sharon Drive in downtown Jeffersonville; however, when Trooper Line tried to stop the car, the driver fled at a high rate of speed. The pursuit began on side streets, but the driver eventually turned onto eastbound 10th Street from Main Street and the pursuit continued east on 10th Street at very high speeds.

ISP Troopers and officers from the Jeffersonville Police Department attempted to place Stop-Stick tire deflation devices near 10th and Miegs Streets but were unsuccessful. As the driver continued to flee, he drove around awaiting ISP and Jeffersonville police units at the intersection of 10th and Spring Streets. He then collided with two passenger cars facing eastbound on the west side of the intersection. One of those passenger vehicles was in turn pushed to the side and into a tow truck sitting in the right-turn lane of the crossing. The fleeing driver continued westbound in the opposite lane and entered the northbound off-ramp from I-65, going the wrong direction before the Infiniti he was driving came to rest on the off-ramp.

The first passenger car struck was occupied by two adults and two juveniles. The adults were transported to UofL Hospital in Louisville with apparent severe, but non-life-threatening injuries. The two juveniles were transported to Nortons Children's Hospital in Louisville with non-life-threatening injuries.

The second passenger vehicle struck was occupied by one male driver who was also taken to UofL Hospital with severe but non-life-threatening injuries. The two occupants of the truck were not injured.

The fleeing driver, later identified as 18-year-old Franky Vasquez of Louisville, Kentucky, was transported to UofL Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

During the investigation, suspected drugs and a weapon were located at the scene. Numerous charges related to the pursuit and items collected at the scene will be forthcoming following medical release from the hospital. This news release will be updated as charging information becomes available. This is an ongoing investigation
