Frye: Apply Today For Paid Internship at the Statehouse

Frye stated that the legislature may make certain changes to the internship program due to the impacts of COVID-19 but more information will be communicated to those who apply.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) - State Rep. Randy Frye is encouraging local college students and recent graduates looking to gain valuable work experience to apply online for paid internships with the Indiana House of Representatives at the Statehouse in Indianapolis.

At the start of each legislative session, the House of Republicans hires interns to help legislators and staff with the increased workload. These positions are open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors, as well as recent college graduates. Those who are law school students or graduate students are welcome to apply as well.

"So many students benefit from participating in the Indiana House Internship program each legislative session, and it is always such an exciting time to meet interns from our area," Frye said. "Participants can use the skills, connections and experiences they gain to land great jobs and jump-start their careers."

These internships are full-time positions that will take place Monday through Friday, lasting from January through April in 2021. Interns will receive biweekly compensation of $750, and can earn academic credit through their college or university. Interns are also eligible for a competitive $3,000 scholarship to use toward undergraduate and graduate expenses.

Frye stated that the legislature may make certain changes to the internship program due to the impacts of COVID-19 and social distancing requirements, but any adjustments will be communicated to candidates and intern hires.

Those interested should apply before October 31 by visiting, IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/internship.
