The state's jobless rate is now equal with the national average.

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana’s unemployment rate went up in August.
According to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, the state’s jobless rate stood at 4.2 percent last month, up from 4.0 percent the month prior.
By comparison, the national unemployment rate for August was also at 4.2 percent.
Indiana’s labor participation rate of 62.7 percent is equal to the national rate.
As of September 16, 2024, there were 89,103 open job postings throughout the state.
