This investigation remains ongoing

Clark County - May 12, 2025: Detectives with the Indiana State Police Cold Case Unit arrested 33-year-old Derek James Pixley of Borden, Indiana, Monday evening for the murder of Brittney Boman, following a shooting incident in Henryville over two years ago.

On October 2, 2022, Clark County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a female shot on Brownstown Road in Henryville. The Clark County Sheriff’s Department responded and found Brittney Boman, who was transported to the University of Louisville Emergency Room for treatment. Tragically, Boman remained hospitalized until her death on December 30, 2022.

In December 2024, the Clark County Sheriff’s Department transferred the investigation to the Indiana State Police Cold Case Unit. Detective Matt Busick initiated a separate and thorough investigation, conducting numerous interviews related to the October 2022 shooting. In April 2025, Detective Busick met with Clark County Prosecutor Jeremy Mull to review the case. On May 7, 2025, the completed case was presented to the prosecutor’s office. The following day, a probable cause affidavit was filed in Clark County Circuit Court 1, and an arrest warrant for murder was issued for Pixley.

ISP Sellersburg Post detectives and troopers located and arrested Pixley during the evening hours of May 12, 2025, in Scott County without incident. Pixley was transported to the Clark County Jail, where he is currently incarcerated.

This investigation remains ongoing. Detective Busick was assisted by the Clark County Sheriff’s Department and the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office.
