Jefferson County lawmakers support special session to provide inflation relief to Hoosiers

Gov. Eric Holcomb announced his plan to call state lawmakers back to the Statehouse for a special session

STATEHOUSE (June 9, 2022) – "With inflation squeezing the pocketbooks of everyone across the U.S. and Indiana, people need relief. Returning money to Hoosier taxpayers is via an automatic taxpayer refund is an efficient and direct approach to getting money back into their hands," said State Rep. Randy Frye (R-Greensburg).

"Hoosiers are dealing with failed Democrat policies that are causing soaring inflation. Just this week we saw gas prices climb to new record highs. I'm in full support of the governor's call for a special session to get some money back into people's hands," said State Rep. Jim Lucas (R-Seymour).

"As lawmakers, we're charged with being responsible stewards of the people's money and ensuring state government lives within its means. The state's economy and fiscal outlook continue to soar beyond expectations, and we're once again positioned to return money to taxpayers. Expediting another automatic taxpayer refund is an efficient and responsible way to provide some relief quickly," said State Rep. Zach Payne (R-Charlestown).
