Jennings Co. Deputy Responds To Urgent Medical Call

Upon arrival, deputies found that the female did not have a pulse. 

(Jennings County, Ind.) - On May 23, Deputy Ian McPherson and Deputy Kyle Lee responded to a medical call in Country Squire Lakes Subdivision.

Jennings County Dispatch was advised that a female subject was not breathing and a family member was attempting CPR. Upon arrival, deputies found that the female did not have a pulse. 

Deputies were able to use life-saving techniques until Jennings County EMS arrived. Once EMS arrived they were able to use the recently purchased LUCAS Device (Mechanical Chest Compression Devices) as well as medication intervention. 

According to the Sheriff's Department, and AED was also used while the LUCAS Device continued chest compressions. A pulse was able to be established and the female patient began to breathe on her own during transport to St. Vincent/Jennings Hospital.
