Wednesday November 3, 2021, Madison Police Patrol Officer Nichole Midgett responded to the Murphy's USA gas station on Ivy Tech Drive, regarding a burglary that had already occurred. Information gained from the scene of the burglary, and the subsequent follow-up investigation conducted by Detective Jeremey Perkins, led to the development of a suspect.
November 4, 2021, Detective Perkins and Patrol Officer Midgett met with Madison Consolidated School Resource Officer Tim Armstrong. The suspect, a fourteen year old juvenile, was detained and charged with the Murphey's USA burglary.
Investigating officers recovered stolen property, which included tobacco / nicotine products and money, from the suspects residence. The juvenile has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.
