Kentucky State Police Investigate Fatal Collision in Henry County

Crash remains under investigation

                                    

CAMPBELLSBURG, Ky. (11/18/2023) – On Friday, November 17, 2023 at 4:33 pm Kentucky State Police Post 5 in Campbellsburg received a 911 call in reference to a single vehicle collision with entrapment.  Kentucky State Police personnel along with Henry County EMS and Henry County Fire responded to the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates a 2009 Chrysler passenger operated by Stephanie Nichols of Bethlehem, was traveling eastbound on Ballardsville Road near the 5800 block. For unknown reasons Ms. Nichols lost control of the vehicle, crossed over the westbound lane of travel and left the roadway.  The vehicle continued traveling off the roadway until striking a tree.

The Henry County Coroner responded to the scene where Ms. Nichols was pronounced deceased.  Next of kin has been notified. 

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Kentucky State Police Post 5.
