Kentucky State Police Investigate Shooting Incident

Victim in Serious Condition

                                    

Verona, KY. (October 9th, 2021) – The Kentucky State Police, Post 5 Campbellsburg is investigating a shooting that took place on South Fork Road in Gallatin County on October 9, 2021, at approximately 2:04 am.

The preliminary investigation reveals that Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an altercation involving Joshua C. Sayler, 30 years old, of Verona, KY, and Taylor M. Barnett, 29 years old, of Verona, Ky. During the investigation, it was determined that Taylor Barnett shot Mr. Sayler multiple times while they were in an altercation. Mr. Sayler was taken by Gallatin County EMS to the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Ohio where he is currently in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing by Post 5 Detectives, who were assisted at the scene by Post 5 Troopers, Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office, Warsaw Police Department, Gallatin County EMS, and Verona EMS.
