November 30th

Downtown Madison businesses will join hundreds of communities across the nation for the 10th Annual SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY on November 30, 2019. This special shopping day is dedicated to our local small businesses. It celebrates the diverse range of local businesses in our community that create jobs, boost the economy, and enhance our wonderful neighborhoods. Everyone is encouraged to visit all the stores as merchants roll out the Holiday trim and deck the stores with holiday merchandise.

SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY is a perfect way to support friends and neighbors: since an average of two-thirds of every dollar ($0.67) spent at small businesses in the U.S. stays in the local community. Consumers’ local impact during the important holiday shopping season is significant. Dollars spent at small businesses stay local partially due to employees spending and businesses purchasing staying local, according to the Small Business Economic Impact Study from American Express. “When we spend local, small businesses thrive. And when small businesses thrive, we all thrive.”

As part of this special day, Madison Main Street Program will host a local SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY open house from noon to 4:00 pm in the RED BICYCLE HALL, 125 E. Main Street. Come join us as we will have refreshments, Main Street information, and the “Magic of Madison Main Street…In Focus!” Digital Photography Show co-sponsored by the Madison Area Arts Alliance. This multiple screen digital show all display photographs submitted by area photographers—hobbyists and professional—of all aspects of our Main Street—and our everyday life here.

The Madison Main Street Program is dedicated to the on-going revitalization of Madison’s downtown Commercial District as a great place to live, work, and play.
