Traffic stop led to arrest

July 8th, 2023, Madison Police arrested John D. McFadden 34, Madison, Indiana, on narcotic related charges. McFadden was found to be in possession of methamphetamine after being stopped by Patrolman Curtis Shelpman for operating a vehicle with false / fictitious registration. In addition, McFadden’s license to drive in Indiana was suspended and he failed to maintain financial responsibility for the vehicle in which he was operating.
McFadden was transported to the Jefferson County Jail where he faces preliminary alleged charges of possession of methamphetamine L-6 felony, possession of paraphernalia class C misdemeanor and operating w/o financial responsibility (prior) class C misdemeanor. John McFadden has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.
