Innocent until proven guilty

May 15, 2022, Madison Police arrested Robert P. Newberry, 42, Carrollton, Kentucky, on narcotic related charges.
Madison Police Patrolman Curtis Shelpman stopped Newberry for a traffic violation at the corner of Second and Baltimore Streets. K-9 Officer Ben Flint and his K-9 partner "Meko" assisted Shelpman with the stop. "Meko" conducted an open air sniff around the perimeter of Newberry's vehicle, and gave his handler a positive indication for the presence of narcotics. The subsequent search found Newberry to be in possession of methamphetamine L-6 felony, syringe L-6 felony, and a legend drug A-misdemeanor. Newberry was taken into custody without incident.
Robert Newberry has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty. Sergeant Aaron Watson and Sr. Patrolman Josh Nolan also assisted.
