Madison Police Chief John Wallace is cautioning parents and others to be on the look out for a new potentially deadly street drug called “Rainbow” that is made colorful to look like candy but actually laced with highly dangerous Fentanyl.
Wallace said the drug has been showing up in nearby communities and could be on the street in Madison. He said the drug is manufactured to look like candy, perhaps to disguise the content, but the appearance also might make it desirable to children. Ingesting the drug could be deadly because Fentanyl is one of the most powerful narcotics and has been involved in numerous overdoses and deaths.
Those who see a drug or candy meeting the description of Rainbow should call Madison Police at 812-265-3347 or call 911.
