Contract would begin July 14th and run thru June 2025
                                     
The Board of Trustees of Madison Consolidated Schools held a public hearing on the superintendent’s contract last a requirement by Indiana code that lays the groundwork for hiring the corporation’s new superintendent.
Indiana code public requires a hearing on the proposed contract to be held at least seven days before a contract is entered into by the board and the superintendent. The board of trustees will meet next Wednesday with plans to hire the new superintendent and approve a contract for that position.
The contract term begins Thursday, July 14, the day after next Wednesday’s meeting, and ends June 30, 2025, providing for automatic one-year extensions. The contract grants an initial starting salary of $145,000 that allows for base salary increases equivalent to the highest base salary increase received by a school corporation teacher if the superintendent is evaluated as highly effective and achieves the board’s annual performance objectives
