(Madison, Ind.) – Madison’s Megan Hill was named one of two Hoosier recipients of the Indiana Federation of Republican Women (IFRW) scholarship for 2020.

Hill is a 2017 graduate of Shawe Memorial High School and is now a senior at Butler University in Indianapolis, where she is studying political science, with a minor in Spanish.

The announcement was made at the IFRW’s statewide meeting, held by teleconference on August 17.

During her sophomore year at Butler, she served an Indiana Statehouse internship during one legislative session for the Indiana House Republicans. During fall 2019, she studied in Spain for one semester. After graduation from Butler University in spring 2021, she hopes to attend law school.

The Indiana Federation of Republican Women Scholarship is awarded to men and women who are currently sophomores, juniors or seniors at an Indiana college or university. Two scholarships are awarded annually to both traditional and non-traditional students.

“Megan is a great example of a young person getting involved in public life at an early age. Her scholastic abilities and her character make her the ideal candidate for this award. We are so proud of her and her accomplishments, and wish her well in coming years,” said Karen Mannix, president of the Jefferson County Republican Women.

The Indiana Federation of Republican Women is part of the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW), a grassroots political organization with thousands of active members in local clubs across the nation and in several U.S. territories.
