Man Arrested After Threating Woman & Child At Wal-Mart

(Madison, Ind.) – On April 25, Madison Police responded to the Madison Wal-Mart in reference to threats being made.

At approximately 3:00 p.m., the victim reported that she and her child were approached by an unknown male while in the bakery section of Wal-Mart. The victim stated that the male was holding a knife and stated that he was going to kill her. The suspect then reportedly turned to the child and stated, but I’m going to kill you first.

Madison Police Officers Cameron Blankenship and Zach Nicholson led the investigation and conducted an extensive search of the area.

At approximately 8:21 p.m. Madison Police Patrolman Jared Sweet located an individual, who fit the description of the Wal-Mart suspect. The individual was then identified as 26-year-old Cody R. Goldman, of Depauw, Indiana.

Goldman was found to be in possession of a knife, and through the investigation was positively identified as the suspect.

Goldman was then taken into custody without further incident. He now faces two counts of intimidation while armed with a deadly weapon (level 6 felony), and battery of a minor (level 5 felony). Goldman is currently incarcerated at the Jefferson County Jail.
