Innocent until proven guilty
                                
July 25, 2022, Madison Police Officer Nichole Midgett executed a traffic stop at Main and Wall Streets. The driver of the Dodge Pick-up was identified as Shawn P. Sholdebrand 52, Milton, Kentucky. Sholdebrand was stopped for committing several traffic violations and erratic driving.
Upon the arrival of Captain Heaton, Officer Midgett and her K-9 partner "Cain" conducted an open air sniff of Sholdebrand's vehicle. K-9 "Cain" gave his handler a positive indication for the presence of narcotics. The subsequent probable cause search found Sholdebrand to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Sholdebrand was taken into custody without incident.
Shawn Sholdebrand faces preliminary alleged charges of possession of methamphetamine L-6 felony and possession of paraphernalia class "A" misdemeanor. Sholdebrand has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.
