He is facing a number of drug charges

CORYDON, IND. – A Leavenworth man was arrested after leading an Indiana State Police Trooper on a brief pursuit in Harrison County late Saturday.
On March 21, 2026, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Trooper Nathaniel Newton attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a motorcycle traveling westbound on State Highway 62 near Water Street in Corydon for speeding. The driver, later identified as Rickie Lee Chambers Jr., 51, of Leavenworth, continued west before turning north onto State Road 135. After initially appearing to slow, Chambers accelerated and failed to stop, leading the trooper on a brief pursuit.
Deputies from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department observed the pursuit as it passed their location and responded. The assisting deputies and Trooper Newton successfully boxed in the motorcycle near State Road 135 and State Road 337, bringing it to a safe stop. Chambers was taken into custody without further incident.
As a result of the subsequent investigation, a search revealed approximately two pounds of suspected marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia and a container holding multiple prescription pills.
Chambers was transported to the Harrison County Jail and preliminarily charged with:
• Resisting law enforcement with a vehicle (Level 6 felony)
• Ten counts of possession of a controlled substance (each a Level 6 felony)
• Dealing in marijuana (Level 6 felony)
• Possession of marijuana (Level 6 felony)
• Driving while suspended (A misdemeanor)
• Possession of paraphernalia (C misdemeanor)
