NORTH VERNON MAN DIES IN FATAL ACCIDENT

Medical Issue Caused The Accident

                                   

On July 06, 2022, at approximately 01:20 PM, the Jennings County Sheriff's Office responded to a single vehicle traffic accident on State Road 3 South just south of the Crosley Check-In Station.

The investigation indicated that a 2006 GMC Envoy, driven by Elmer Hall (73 of North Vernon), was traveling southbound on State Road 3 where he ran off the west side of the roadway and struck a tree. During the investigation, it was determined that a medical issue caused the vehicle to run off the roadway.

Elmer Hall was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Jennings County Corners Office. A passenger in the vehicle was injured and taken to a local medical facility for treatment. Elmer's family has been notified.

The Jennings County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Jennings County EMS, Jennings County Central Dispatch, Vernon Fire Rescue, Jennings County Corners Office and Pearson's Towing.
