(Scott County, Ind.) – Due to COVID-19 restrictions nationwide, including in Indiana, the Scott County 4-H council decided to hold this year 4-H fair virtually.

Instead of having face to face exhibition, the youth projects will be displayed through technology to the community in July.

In consideration of local businesses who are stretched thin with the current economic conditions, the 4-H council stated that the decision was not made to offer an auction where 4-H youth can sell their livestock in 2020.

Some members have already begun to market their animals individually to minimize their feed and other costs associated with the animals’ care.

“We understand that these decisions may be disappointing, but they are being made in the best interest of everyone’s safety. This is an opportunity for Scott County 4-H’ers to implement their “health to better living” for their club, community, country, and the world! We appreciate the community’s support during this unprecedented time,” stated the council.
