(Scott County, Ind.) – Scott County Health Department announced on Friday that there have been additional cases of coronavirus reported at The Waters of Scottsburg. This new cluster of positive cases includes 13 additional residents.

The Waters of Scottsburg has notified patients and their families of positive cases.

The Waters continues to partner with the Scott County Health Department (SCHD) and the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) to further mitigate transmission of COVID-19 within the facility.

The SCHS will continue to provide daily communications and support in the form of personal protective equipment, while the ISDH provides assistance with infection control within the facility.

Dr. Kevin Rogers, Scott County Health Officer said, “It is unfortunate that additional cases were found within the facility. It is important to remember that novel coronavirus can be easily transmitted, even when symptoms are not yet present.”
