Vehicle Crash Results in the Death of a Jackson County Resident

Crash remains under investigation

                                    

Scott County-On April 25th at approximately 9:14 am, Deputies were dispatched to the 2400 block of Stagecoach Road in western Scott County reference a serious automobile crash. Upon arrival, deputies observed a 2017 white Mitsubishi passenger car on its roof with damage to the front and top of the vehicle. First responders were on the scene tending to the driver, who was later pronounced deceased by Scott County Deputy Coroner, Tim Hall. The next of kin notification is being conducted and will be released by the Scott County Coroner’s Office (if requested) by calling 812-752-5550.

First Sergeant Johnney Coomer of the Scott County Sheriff’s Office is the investigating officer, assisted at the scene by Lt Col Joe Guarneri and Chief Deputy Toby Deaton. The investigation revealed the single vehicle involved in the crash left the roadway and overturned upon striking a ditch line embankment. No other vehicles were involved. Firefighters/first responders from the Finley and Scottsburg Fire Departments also assisted deputies at the scene.
