(Jefferson County, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Beaty Construction Inc. plans to resume work next week on the new approach from the Madison-Milton Bridge in Madison.

The new alignment opened to traffic last June and is expected to be completed this spring.

Beginning on or after Monday, April 12, crews will return to the area to begin moving dirt and placing sod throughout project limits. Traffic impacts should be minimal with the possibility of lane closures and flagging as needed.

Crews will begin placing the final asphalt surface between Walnut Street and the bridge starting in early May. Following paving, a section of Main Street from Walnut Street to St. Michaels Avenue will be restriped to match the configuration of the bridge approach.

Crosswalk markings at East Street will be enhanced and parking will remain available on the north side of Main Street.

Motorists are encouraged to slow down, and use caution. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
