116th Boys Basketball State Tournament begins next week

404 will begin the journey for a state title

INDIANAPOLIS - The IHSAA has unveiled sectional pairings for the 116th Boys Basketball State Tournament. 

A total of 404 teams will compete across four classifications. 

Sectional play will run Tuesday, March 3 through Saturday, March 7 at 60 locations across the state. Sectional champions will move on to a one game regional on Saturday, March 14. 

A two-game semi-state will take place on Saturday, March 21, followed by four state championship games on Saturday, March 28 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis. 

Sectional pairings for local teams are listed below. 

Class 3A Sectional 29 at South Dearborn 

G1: Lawrenceburg vs. Greensburg
G2: Franklin County vs. Jennings County
G3: #10 Batesville vs. Winner G1
G4: South Dearborn vs. Winner G2
Championship: Winner G3 vs. Winner G4

*Winner will play Madison Sectional Champion: #1 Silver Creek, Charlestown, Corydon Central, #14 Brownstown Central, North Harrison or Madison

Class 3A Sectional 30 at Madison 

G1: Corydon Central vs. Charlestown. Tues

G2: Brownstown Central vs. North Harrison. Tues

G3: Madison Consolidated vs. G1 winner. Fri

G4: Silver Creek vs. G2 winner. Fri

Championship: G3 winner vs. G4 winner. Sat

*Winner will play South Dearborn Sectional Champion: Lawrenceburg, Greensburg, Franklin County, Jennings County, #10 Batesville or South Dearborn 

Class 2A Sectional 45 at Southwestern (Hanover)

G1: Brown County vs. Southwestern (Hanover)
G2: Austin vs. Switzerland County
G3: South Ripley vs. Winner G1
Championship: Winner G2 vs. Winner G3

*Winner will play Forest Park Sectional Champion: Evansville Mater Dei, Forest Park, South Spencer, North Posey, Perry Central, Pike Central, or Tell City

Southwestern Rebels Boys Basketball take on Brown County Athletics in the single game on opening night with winner taking on SR Boys Basketball in the 2nd semi-final. Switzerland County Boys Basketball will take on Austin High School Athletics in the first semi-final

WIKI Radio will carry the Southwestern v Brown County and the Switzerland Co v Austin games. If The Rebels advance 95.3 will carry their game against the Raiders.
