HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL:

Trimble Co. falls to Eminence 64-31. Shelby Wilcoxson 13 for the Lady Raiders.

 

HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL:

Walton-Verona over Carroll Co. 70-27. Wyatt Supplee 15 for the Panthers.

 

All three local schools participating in last night’s IHSAA Floyd Central Boys Sectional preliminaries have advanced swimmers to Saturday’s finals or consolation finals including five finals by Madison, three by Southwestern and one by Switzerland County. Overall Madison posted 17 personal best times with three of those landing Cubs in the sectional finals and seven more qualifying for the consolation finals. Madison will swim in six finals and 10 consolations overall, while Southwestern will swim in three finals and four consolations and Switzerland County will swim in a final and a consolation.

Hanover’s swim teams wrapped up the first of three days at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimming Championships with the men a distant third and the women fifth among six teams competing.

Hanover men’s tennis split the six singles matches but lost two of the three doubles in a 5-4 loss to Midway (Ky.) in the Panthers’ spring opener last night.
