Cards Omaha Bound, Thurston Scoreless Streak Continues

Weekend June 7-9

The UofL baseball team is on its way to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.  The Cardinals swept East Carolina in the Louisville Super Regional at Jim Patterson Stadium over the weekend.  UofL will face Vanderbilt in its first game in the College World Series, which starts on Saturday. Cards lost to Vandy 6-2 May 7th at home.

 

Madison’s Ryan Thurston’s scoreless streak continued as he pitches two more innings on Saturday for the South Shore RailCats. Thurston’s streak is now at 6 in a row. His ERA is down to 0.82 with 10 strikeouts, 5 walks and 6 hits over 11 innings. Only one earned run.
