A 21ST CENTURY LEARNING CENTER COMING TO CANAAN ACADEMY

Canaan Community Academy is pleased to announce that they have been awarded the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant. This grant will provide more than a quarter million dollars to provide a new 21st Century Learning Center for students in Jefferson, Ripley and Switzerland counties. 

Canaan Community Academy is an Indiana Department of Education STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) Certified school where all students participate. The new 21st Century Learning Center will have STEM focus taking their STEM education to the next level in the center's after school programming.

The center will be FREE to all students providing engaging and motivating activities that are student centered, this approach engages students in solving real-world problems using inquiry-based learning, problem solving learning, and engineering design practices, which require critical thinking and collaboration. 

Students will be able to participate in electronics, coding, culinary arts, robotics and more in a culture of collaboration and creativity to prepare students for future careers and life.

The 21st Learning Center will offer opportunities for families to volunteer, participate in workshops, and lead activities. The center will also provide employment opportunities for the community.
