Arvin Sango's four-year project involves further improvements to their recycling program to complement their waste to energy initiatives towards zero waste to landfill.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) - The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) welcomes Arvin Sango, Inc. and Marathon Pipe Line LLC - Clermont Area to the Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP). These companies join 56 other ESP businesses, each of which is committed to implementing or maintaining measurable environmental improvements such as reducing water or energy use, decreasing solid or hazardous waste, or reducing air emissions.

Arvin Sango, Inc., located in Madison, manufactures exhaust systems, manifolds, stampings, sub-assemblies, tubing, and catalytic converters.

To be accepted in ESP, each company has maintained a standard of environmental compliance, developed and implemented an environmental management system (ISO 14001 certified), and committed to a variety of environmental improvement projects.

Arvin Sango's four-year project involves further improvements to their recycling program to complement their waste to energy initiatives towards zero waste to landfill. This will be accomplished through investigating ways to dispose of materials, adding designated bins and trash compactors, monitoring and employee training, and contracting with a waste incineration facility to increase recycling efforts by 153 tons and waste to energy by 89 tons in the first year, with a goal of sending zero waste to the landfill by 2024.
