(Hebron, Ky.) – A Cincinnati man has been identified as the victim of a fatal accident that occurred on Wednesday morning in northern Kentucky.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office responded to the vehicle versus pedestrian collision at the intersection of Petersburg Road and Aviation Boulevard around 6:01 a.m.

Deputies say Nathaniel Carter, 22, of Hamilton, Ohio, was traveling eastbound on Petersburg Road when his vehicle collided with James Moulden, 65.

Moulden was attempting to cross from the southside of Petersburg Road towards Aviation Boulevard.

The preliminary investigation shows Carter had the green light for eastbound traffic and that Moulden was not in the crosswalk when the collision happened.

Carter remained on the scene, reported the collision, and is cooperating with the investigation.

Moulden was pronounced deceased at the scene despite the efforts of Hebron Fire and EMS who attempted life saving measures.

Known contributing factors include the moderate rain conditions, no lighting at the intersection, and limited visibility due to darkness.

Speed and/or impairment are currently unknown and remain under investigation.
