By Carroll County School District, news release

Gov. Beshear ordered all public and private schools in Kentucky to close to in-person instruction starting Monday, November 23.

(Carrollton, Ky.) - November 19, 2020 - At a November 18 press conference, Gov. Beshear ordered all public and private schools in Kentucky to close to in-person instruction starting Monday, November 23. Therefore, Friday, November 20, will be the last day of in-person instruction for all Carroll County School District students until further notice. Classes will be held online under the distance learning model starting Monday.

“We are very disappointed and saddened to say that our schools will be transitioning back to distance learning,” said Superintendent Danny Osborne. “As I said earlier on Wednesday, our intention was to remain open as long as the spread of COVID within our schools remained low. That being said, I do understand where Gov. Beshear is coming from with this directive. We will do everything that we can to make the next few months the best educational experience possible for our students.”

Students will return to in-person instruction on Jan. 4, 2021. This will apply for all schools in the Carroll County School District.

The football team will be playing their playoff game Friday night, and more specific information regarding sports will be shared next week.

Schools will be providing additional instructions on distance learning before Monday.

“This is just the beginning of a series of changes and modifications that we need to make and communicate to our community,” said Osborne. “Again, we’re going to do the very best that we can to make this a great year for our students. I am saddened at the hardship that this change will cause to our families. However, I am optimistic that we will get through this together. Thank you in advance for your patience as we make logistical and instructional changes in the coming days and weeks.”
