(Carroll County, Ky.) - The Carroll County Public Library will open Monday, June 15th at 11 a.m. Starting out our hours will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11 am to 4 p.m. We will review services on a two-week schedule to see what services we can add or if we can accommodate additional hours.

We will have 7 public computers open and everyone is limited to 1 hour per day of use. All machines will be wiped down after each use. We ask that you remain seated during that hour and not talk or visit with anyone else that is on a computer. No one can stand near you as you use a computer, even family members. If you are coming to use a computer, please come by yourself. We will terminate sessions if we feel social distancing is not being honored.

Areas will have signage to make sure everyone understands the number of people allowed in an area at any one time. We are trusting that you will help us honor that.

Please limit conversations with staff as you are checking out and practice social distancing. All returns will have to be deposited in the book drop and will be quarantined for 7 days. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Our Genealogy Room will not be accessible for genealogy research or public use at this time. We ask that all faxes and copies be done via our self-service stations.

We will be limited the amount of one-on-one computer help that we are able to provide social distancing. We will do our best, but we will not be able to sit down with you and help you on a computer.

We will be able to do notaries on documents, as long as it is no more than two signatures. We will not notarize car titles. We will direct you to check at the Carroll County Clerk's Office.

At this time, we will not be offering Passport Acceptance Services. We are working on solutions to try to add that back in as soon as we can.

No in-person meetings or programs will be allowed at this time. Our Community Room will not be available as long as we have to quarantine our items.

There is very limited seating throughout the building and we ask that you try to limit your time in the library. Our wifi is available, but we ask that you limit your usage to an hour a day inside the building. It is available in our parking lot.

We strongly encourage curbside service. We will be continuing that service Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

As you browse through the items, please refrain from touching something that you are not going to check out. If you do touch, please place it on the carts throughout the building so they can be properly cleaned.

As we open, for a limited time, our services will be fine free as we want to limit the number of times we have to handle money.

Masks will not be required, but are strongly suggested. We will have some masks available for you to keep if needed. We will also have gloves available. Our staff will be wearing masks and/or face shields.

These restrictions are all put in place to help keep you and our staff safe.
