CITY ANNOUNCES “NATIONAL NIGHT OUT” EVENT

Tuesday, August 7 @ 5:30 pm at the Madison/Jefferson County Library

“National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer. It provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.” https://natw.org/about

In recognition of “National Night Out”, the City Council has moved their regular meeting to the Madison/Jefferson County Library and has invited public, local elected Officials, Police, Fire and Sheriff’s Departments, to join them at a Community Block Party. There will be a brief introduction of the local elected officials and law enforcement representatives in attendance. As part of the festivities, there will be a free snack supper and concert. The Community Concert Band will begin their performance around 6:30 pm. We’d love for you to bring a chair and enjoy the music.

“Madison’s City Council has participated in this event for many years, and this year, we’re excited to continue the festivities. We think it is a great way to bring local government to our fellow citizens in one of our beautiful facilities. We hope everyone will come out to enjoy the festivities and get to know more about their local government in a less formal way,” said Mayor Damon Welch.

Officers, City Department Heads and Elected Officials will all be available to talk to citizens before or after the meeting. Hopefully this will provide a great way to come together and show our support and appreciation to all our Civil Servants who are hard at work to make our community safe and beautiful. For more information, contact Tammy Acosta @ City Hall, 812-265-8300.
