(Madison, Ind.) - Summer is nearly here, and the City of Madison is looking forward to warmer days and family-friendly activities! Between swimming at Crystal Beach, a night at the ballfield, and movies in the park, families will have plenty to enjoy all summer long.

To kick off summer, the Mayor’s Movies in the Park will make its return thanks to the generosity of numerous community sponsors. Families can head to Bicentennial Park at dusk on Friday, May 28th, to enjoy a showing of “The Little Rascals”. All movies are free to the community and are contingent on weather and Jefferson County health restrictions. For a complete movie schedule, visit Madison-in.gov/movies.

On Saturday, May 29th, Crystal Beach Swimming Pool will officially open for the summer! The City of Madison Parks Department will offer water aerobics Monday through Friday at 9 a.m. beginning May 31st. The cost is $5 per session or $30 for the season. Swim lessons will also be offered at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Monday through Friday during the weeks of June 7-18 and July 5-16.  Registration is required, and the cost is $50. Crystal Beach Season passes are only available to those 65 and older and are on sale now.  The cost is $120.  For more information, including how to register and purchase passes, visit Madison-in.gov/crystalbeach.

Baseball and softball season is also just around the corner. Registration is ongoing until the end of April. Teams and schedules will be announced the first week of May. Registrations must be made at madisonin.recdesk.com. If you have questions, please call the parks department at 812-265-8308.
