(Madison, Ind.) - In compliance with Governor Holcomb’s executive orders, the city is suspending all nonessential meetings. All public meetings deemed necessary for the continued operation of the city of government or to address critical or essential matters will be conducted electronically.

“It is important that we do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19. Moving our meetings to an electronic format will allow the city to conduct essential business while ensuring we are following all guidance given by the governor in a safe and effective manner. We understand this situation is not ideal, but your safety and health are very important to us and is the reason we must make these changes,” said Mayor Bob Courtney.

The meetings that will continue to meet are as follows:

  • Common Council
  • Board of Public Works
  • Plan Commission
  • Board of Zoning Appeals
  • Historic Board of Review
  • Redevelopment Commission
  • PACE Grant Committee

The city, through its partnership with TV15, will provide live broadcasting of all essential meetings on Metronet channel 15 and Spectrum channel 377. The meetings will also be shared on the city Facebook page the day following the meeting.

While the public will not be able to attend the meetings in person, public input is still encouraged. Agendas and packets of meeting materials will be made available on our website, Madison-in.gov, at least 24 hours prior to the meeting start time. Public comments will be accepted until 3:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. To submit a public comment, please send an email to community@madison-in.gov
