Madison, Indiana (December 30, 2021) –The City of Madison Parks Department announced today the launch of a new and improved campground reservation system. The software, called Astra, enhances customer interactions and streamlines the booking process while providing real-time online reservations through ReserveAmerica.com.

"In January of 2021, the parks department introduced RecDesk to the community, which allowed for online registration and payments for the first time in Madison. The launching of the new campground software is the next step toward improving the visitors' experience online while improving financial reporting capabilities and increasing reservations," said Parks Director Matt Woolard. "ReserveAmerica.com is one of the most popular campground websites in America and is proven to increase reservations up to 20%, drawing over 14 million unique visitors per year."

New features campground enthusiasts can expect to see when making a reservation include seamless booking for multiple nights stays, grid map views to make finding your site easier than ever, and real time online booking that are always up to date.

The City of Madison Campground, located along the Ohio River, opens for the season on April 1st and closes on October 31st. Reservations for the 2022 season will open in early January and can be made at madison-in.gov/campground.

RecDesk will continue to be used for league management, program registration, and facility registrations, but campground registrations will be redirected to the new platform.
