(Jennings County, Ind.) - March 7th at approximately 3:00 P.M., Jennings County Dispatch received a 911 call from a concerned citizen who reported stumbling upon what appeared to be human remains in a densely wooded area in Campbell Township. Deputies and Detectives from the Jennings County Sheriff's Office responded and were directed to the location by the caller.

Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement officials confirmed the presence of human remains. Subsequent evidence collected at the location positively identified the deceased as Johnathon Walls, 37, a resident of North Vernon, who had been reported missing by family members in August of 2023.

Following a comprehensive investigation conducted by the Jennings County Sheriff's Office, Indiana State Police, and the Jennings County Coroner’s Office, the cause of Mr. Walls' death was determined to be suicide.
