Drug Investigation In Jennings County Leads To Eight Being Arrested

Home is known for a large amount of drug activity

On 05/05/23 The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at an address in Country Squire Lakes related to an ongoing drug investigation. Deputy John Hartman presented a probable cause affidavit to the Jennings County Prosecutor’s Office requesting a search warrant which was reviewed and approved by the Jennings County Circuit Court. Once the search warrant was served at the residence 8 adults and 1 infant was located. Suspected methamphetamine, syringes, prescription pills, marijuana, and paraphernalia related items were also located. In addition to the aforementioned items being located Deputies observed several components or precursors for the manufacturing of methamphetamine within the garage area including meth cook instruction and supply list. Due to the drug environment as well as unsatisfactory living conditions assistance from the Indiana Department of Child Services was requested to the scene for the infant. Personnel from the Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Team were contacted and requested for assistance. As a result of this investigation 8 adults were taken into custody without incident. The infant was found to be a child in need of services and temporary placed into the custody of DCS then to a relative. A member of the Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Team collected the meth lab evidence. It should be noted that the search warrant location is well known by the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office as a nuisance location with over 40 calls for service at the location including multiple drug related calls. The same location was subject to a drug related search warrant back in December 2022 also resulting in arrest.
