Fatal Motorcycle Accident In Owen Co

 On July 25, 2019 at approximately 6:30 a.m. Kentucky State Police, Post 5 Campbellsburg received a call of a two vehicle injury collision involving a motorcycle and a truck pulling a livestock trailer. Trooper Brandon Maupin responded to the scene and began an investigation.

The preliminary investigation indicated that the operator of the motorcycle, Richard J. Bibro (52) of Frankfort, Ky., struck the truck between the rear bumper and trailer while pulling onto Highway 35. Following the initial contact, Mr. Bibro came to a final stop under the truck. Owen County EMS and Owen County Fire and Rescue responded to the scene, requesting a helicopter upon arrival. Air methods arrived on scene, but did not transport Mr. Bibro.

Richard Bibro was pronounced deceased by air methods at the landing zone. No other injuries were reported in the collision.

The investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by Trooper Maupin.
