Fire Destroys Double Wide On Dow Ridge

Three fire companies called to blaze

Brooksburg/Milton Township Fire Company around 9:30 this morning responded to a report of a double wide mobile home on fire on Dow Ridge Rd.

Rykers Ridge was dispatched also as part of automatic mutual aid. Additional assistance was requested from Moorefield Fire Dept in Switzerland County due to the close proximity to their station.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy Sgt Troy Hawkins was first on scene to find the home heavily involved with fire.

Moorefield arrived shortly after and started a defensive attack to save a garage that was very close to the mobile home.

The home was a total loss but the garage was saved.

Engine 14 and Tanker 14 from Milton Twp responded as well as Engine 31 from Rykers Ridge. Two engines and one tanker from Mooerfield also responded.

Crews were on scene for about 2 hours.

There were no injuries
