Traffic Stop led to Arrest

Wednesday, Madison Police Patrolman Curtis Shelpman executed a traffic stop in the 100 block of Clifty Drive for a traffic infraction. The driver of the Dodge truck was identified as Maurice Youngblood 55, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
A check of Youngblood's driving status revealed his privileges to drive in Indiana had been suspended. During the subsequent search of Youngblood's vehicle, a white substance was located, which field tested positive as methamphetamine.
Maurice Youngblood was arrested and faces a preliminary alleged charge possession of methamphetamine L-6 felony. Youngblood has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty. Shelpman was assisted by Patrolman Trent Smith and Lieutenant Season Jackson.
