Madison, Indiana (June 22, 2022) – Governor Eric J. Holcomb has been announced as the Grand Marsal of the City of Madison Annual Hometown USA Parade. The parade is scheduled for July 1, 2022, at 6 p.m. and will be held on Madison’s historic downtown Main Street.

Gov. Holcomb is accomplishing outstanding work for our state which includes his launch of the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI), “Skillful Indiana,” and the Next Level Roads, Connections, and Recovery programs. Since his election to office in 2016, 300 companies committed to create 31,710 jobs in Indiana with more than $8.7 billion planned in capital investment.

“From its rich Hoosier history to its forward-facing vision and dynamic downtown riverfront, Madison is where great memories and futures are mad,” said Gov. Holcomb. “I know, I lived up the hill during my Hanover College days and will always consider it a second home full of lifelong friends. There’s no greater beauty on earth than sitting on a bench, watching the sunset over the bridge and polishing off a chocolate shake from Hinkle's.”

“As one of the cities under Gov. Holcomb’s leadership, not only have we seen the positive change his office has brought to our community, but also to our entire region. As one of the direct recipients of the READI initiative through the Southern Indiana Regional Development Authority, Madison is seeing the impact of his work and our partnership with the governor continue to grow. I couldn’t imagine a more deserving recipient of our grand marshal title than Gov. Holcomb. It’s my privilege to honor and welcome him to our beautiful city,” said Mayor Courtney.

Brought to you by Super ATV, the parade features numerous community organizations, patriotic floats, equestrians, and our hometown favorite hydroplanes. To learn more about the parade and the sponsors that made it possible, visit madison-in.gov/parade.
