Hanover will be using this funding to create and support three student-focused initiatives.

(Hanover, Ind.) – Hanover College has been awarded $1 million in grant funding from the Lilly Endowment Inc.
This funding is part of the ‘Charting the Future for Indiana’s Colleges and University,’ an initiative made by the Endowment to help higher education intuitions in the Hoosier state increase effectiveness and financial sustainability.
According to a Hanover release, the awards are allocated to help institutions develop and execute strategies to further their educational missions by addressing their key challenges and taking advantage of promising opportunities to enhance their effectiveness and long-term sustainability.
Hanover will be using this funding to create and support three student-focused initiatives.
Two of these initiatives will connect high-demand academic programs with the liberal arts career preparation, such as a doctorate program for Physical Therapy, and the implementation of a multimedia scholars’ program.
While the third will improve student retention through financial planning resources for the schools at-risks students. Through the provided funding, there will be expanded counseling and outreach through financial literacy education and planning.
